The Unwanted Passenger Chapter 05

The Unwanted Passenger Chapter 05

Sue and clement were chatting and laughing away.

They didn’t realize that Harley wasn’t with them.

It was only right before they sent Tina into the school and when they were preparing to take a photo at the school entrance that Tina finally asked, “Mom, where did Dad go?”

Sue stood stunned for a while. She looked around and realized that indeed, Clement was gone. Her brows furrowed, and she instinctively pulled out her phone to make a call.

Clement stopped her. “Sue, isn’t Harley going for a business trip today?”

Sue said irritably, “I just told him to make sure he finishes up his work on time so that he can attend Tina’s first day at school. He promised.”

Clement sighed. “I didn’t expect him to leave without saying a word. It’s Tina’s first day at her university. Let’s not ruin her day.”

Somehow, Clement’s words only made the annoyance in her heart grow. She put her phone aside and said to Tina, “Your dad is probably overseas for a business trip.”

Tina looked extremely upset and wrung the hem of her shirt. “He promised me he’d be here, didn’t he? Everyone else has their parents with them. Why isn’t he here?”

Clement patted Tina gently on the head. “Your dad might not be here, but I am. With me accompanying you, it’s

the same.”

Tina avoided Clement’s outstretched hand and whined, stomping her feet. “It’s not the same! You’re my uncle. You treat me well, but you’re not my dad.”

Clement’s hand fell to his sides awkwardly.

Harley doted on Tina since she was young, which was why she was often rude to him. To make matters worse, her grandmother, who stayed with them, would often talk badly of him. That sometimes added to her annoyance toward her dad.

Still, her dad was her dad.

Tina held Sue’s hand. “Mom, call Dad now and see where he is! Tell him to hurry over.”

Sue didn’t do what Tina demanded and tried to distract her instead.

“Let’s go check out your dorm first. We’ll talk about it later.”

The three of them walked around, familiarizing themselves with the campus grounds. After Sue made Tina’s bed for her, she left with Clement.

Along the way, Sue realized that Harley didn’t know anything about Tina’s campus since he was on his business trip. She pulled her phone out and sent him some photos.

The next moment, she saw a red exclamation mark next to the photos she sent.

Harley had blacklisted her.

Sue frowned.

Clement noticed Sue’s expression through the rearview mirror while driving and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Sue refused to give up and sent a few more texts, but the same thing happened. Anger started rising up her chest.

How could Harley blacklist her?

Clement saw Sue not responding to him and turned around. He stopped the car at a traffic junction. “Is Tina still throwing a tantrum?”

Sue turned off her screen and shook her head at Clement. “Nothing.”

She didn’t understand why Harley would blacklist her for no reason.

She thought back on what happened after Harley gave his property to Clement. Her relationship with Harley had become awkward.

Harley was usually a calm and emotionless person. After all these years of marriage, Sue thought she knew his temperament best.

She looked at the view zooming past the window and sighed.

Perhaps he was just throwing a fit. She believed that he would remove her from the blacklist very soon.

Sue knew him for 20 years and was clear on the kind of person he was. Whenever they fought, Harley would always be the first to apologize.

It would be the same this time as well.
