My BFF’s “Gift” for My Daughter? She’s Pregnant With MY Husband’s Baby! Chapter 15
On the drive to the hospital, Derek’s brain wouldn’t shut up-replaying everything like Olivia’s had.
Sophomore year. Playing basketball.
His blood sugar dropped hard. Next thing he knew, he was on the ground.
This girl crouched down beside him, pressed candy into his palm.
Turned out she was the freshman Aaron had been chasing for months.
Derek didn’t give a shit. He was already falling.
Started going after her like his life depended on it.
Too late. She’d already chosen Aaron.
The day Olivia got married, Derek spent the whole night crying.
Then he got in his car and followed the wedding convoy like some kind of psycho.
Watched from far away as Aaron carried her out.
Couldn’t make himself get any closer. Just turned around and left, eyes stinging.
That night he got blackout drunk and dreamed he was the one marrying her.
Woke up praying Aaron would fuck it all up so he’d finally get his chance.
And somehow-it actually happened.
Aaron destroyed her.
Derek swooped in. Pulled her out of the wreckage. Made her his.
That whole year getting her through depression?
Absolute hell and absolute heaven wrapped into one.
Hell watching her suffer.
Heaven having her close.
He swore to himself back then:
As long as she gets better, I don’t care what happens to me.
And she did get better. Started healing.
Then she actually fell for him. Chose him this time.
They dated. Got engaged. Started planning the wedding.
Derek was so happy he felt like he was losing his mind.
Chele Drognant With MY Husband’s Baby!
Then came wedding photo day.
Quinn sent him a picture.
An old wedding photo.
Olivia and Aaron.
All that happiness? Dead in an instant.
Jealousy hit him like a freight train.
He looked across the studio-watched Olivia confidently bargaining with the photographer like a pro.
That’s when it really sank in:
This incredible woman had belonged to someone else first.
Every precious moment she had? She’d already given them away to Aaron.
Something in Derek just snapped.
The entire shoot, he stood there like a corpse. Forced smile. Like he was about to marry his worst enemy.
Olivia was too excited to notice.
Afterward she grabbed his hand, grinning:
“Let’s pick up a cheap ring for the ceremony. You know, backup in case someone tries to steal the real ones.”
Logically, Derek knew she was just being practical.
But emotionally? It tore him apart.
He couldn’t stop wondering: Is she saying this because someone stole her ring at her last wedding?
At Olivia and Aaron’s wedding.
