Lost Princess of the Original Bloodline Returns Chapter 10
The day after the banquet, the Nightshade family launched their final attack.
The Nightshade shadow legion destroyed every single Thorne blood bank.
All the clinics allied with Luca turned to ashes overnight.
In less than a month, the High Council stripped the Thorne family of their territory.
The most powerful vampire family that once ruled Onyx City was erased from history forever.
And the once high-and-mighty Lord Luca lost everything.
For seven days straight, he stood a hundred feet outside the Scarlet Palace in a ragged coat.
Freezing rain mixed with trace amounts of silver salt poured from the sky.
The silver salt burned his skin. It sent up foul-smelling white smoke.
He coughed up black blood. Every day, the guards’ magical wards tore his flesh open.
But he still showed up right on time at nightfall.
Tonight, the freezing rain was the heaviest. I walked out of the palace gates holding a magic-proof black umbrella.
The second he saw me, Luca lunged forward on his broken right leg.
He crashed hard into a mud puddle. Dirty water splashed all over his face.
“Elara!” He slapped his own face wildly until his mouth bled. “I was wrong! I was wrong about everything! Please, Elara, give me one last chance.”
His fingers clawed blindly in the mud. He grabbed a handful of sharp gravel.
“I will sign a blood oath! I will be your slave!” He clawed at his face with the sharp stones. He cried. He begged.” Let me be your dog! I swear I never let Mia truly touch me! I only favored her because of my damn insecurities. I was terrified of you getting strong. I wanted you to rely on me forever! I’ve only ever given my blood to you!”
I held my black umbrella. I looked down at this man slamming his head into the mud.
The rain dripped from my umbrella. Each drop hit his bloody face.
“You never loved me.” My voice was dead calm. “You loved a toy you could throw away at any time. You tested my limits in the most humiliating way. You forced me to hand over the bracelet I fed with my own heart’s blood.”
Luca shook his head in absolute agony. “No! That morning, I was standing behind the door with the protection cloak! I just wanted to make you yield. I never wanted to watch you die!”
“But you threw me out. The girl who took a silver bullet for you died in that morning sun. She turned to ashes.”
I coldly stated his crimes. Every word nailed into his heart.
Luca slammed his head into the mud, making a dull thud.
His forehead was soon a bloody mess. But he didn’t stop smashing his head against the ground.
“Please give me one chance! Even if you just let me die by your side! Don’t leave me alone!”
I looked at this man who was once so arrogant and untouchable, now reduced to this.
I felt no pleasure. No pity.
Only clean, total relief.
“Enjoy your eternal life, Luca. Enjoy your bleeding chest. It will never heal.”
I cast the Original bloodline curse. Softly, but with absolute clarity.
Then I closed my umbrella, turned, and walked toward the portal waiting behind me.
Behind me, his heart-wrenching, agonizing screams tore through the night.
But I didn’t look back.
This time, I wouldn’t stop for anyone.
