Mom and Dad, Your Apology Came Too Late Chapter 09
I locked myself in my room for an entire night.
One by one, I gathered every piece of evidence, every record, every truth I had buried deep inside and been too afraid to touch for years.
Each keystroke felt like tearing open an old wound.
But this time, I wasn’t going to give Samuel another chance to twist the truth and hurt my adoptive father or me.
At four in the morning, I hit Publish.
I released everything at once.
Every piece of evidence, document, and proof.
There wasn’t a single unnecessary explanation.
That painting could only have come from me because the person in that painting was my real brother- Samson
Hill.
The scene I painted was the day we were kidnapped.
The kidnappers demanded six million dollars from our parents.
But after they got the money, I overheard them talking about eliminating us anyway.
My brother and I tried to escape while they were dividing up the ransom.
We were caught.
In that desperate moment, I shoved him toward the door and told him to run.
I wanted him to get out first.
But then he looked at me, tears rolling down his face.
The next second, he pushed me out of the room instead.
Then he slammed the door shut and locked it.
The sound of the bolt sliding into place cut through me like a blade.
From the other side of the door came a scream that seemed to tear itself from the depths of his soul.
“Run, Julian!”
I tried to get back inside.
I tried to save him.
But I knew the only way to help him was to find the police.
So, I ran.
I ran until I reached the road, and then I was hit by a passing car.
When I woke up and tried to go back for my brother, it was already too late.
is rotten.]
It wasn’t just the public turning against them.
Samuel’s world began collapsing too.
His fiancée refused to see him.
Instead, she sent a message through her assistant.
“I was willing to overlook the fact that you were adopted because I thought you were talented and had good character. Now? Stay as far away from me as possible.
“Just thinking about the fact that I almost married someone like you is embarrassing.
“If people found out, my enemies would laugh themselves sick.”
Samuel’s hands shook with rage.
Just as he reached for his phone to call and confront her, another email arrived.
It was from the International Artists Association.
Every award he received over the years had been revoked.
At the same time, a public announcement appeared on Instagram:
[Authorship of the artwork cannot be verified. Source materials remain unclear. Ongoing concerns regarding plagiarism and misrepresentation.]
It was almost word-for-word identical to the announcement that had stripped me of my award years ago.
This time, he was the one living through it.
Samuel completely lost control.
He smashed everything in his room.
Furniture, artwork, anything within reach.
“Julian Hill!”
His furious roar echoed through the wreckage.
“I’ll never let you get away with this!”
