Warm My Frozen Heart Chapter 05

Warm My Frozen Heart Chapter 05

The air felt still.

Yvonne’s eyes went wide as she lost control and grabbed me just as I was leaving.

“Jason! Who was that wretch?”

I shook her off and said calmly, “That’s none of your business.”

“How dare you?” She raised her hand high. Her eyes were so red that they looked ready to bleed.

“How dare you do this to me?”

After hesitating for several seconds, she lowered her hand in defeat.

Henry wasn’t willing to let it go. He shouted from the side, “Jason, how could you do this to Yvonne? She loves you so much, and you cheated on her!”

After saying that, he tried to punch me.

Before he could even reach me, Yvonne pushed him away.

Henry stumbled backward and fell, but Yvonne ignored him and kept her eyes on me.

Her voice was trembling. “It’s fake, isn’t it? You hired someone to pretend to be your lover just to make me jealous.”

I looked at her calmly without saying a word.

Yvonne started crying. For a moment, I was genuinely stunned. It was the first time I’d ever seen her cry.

Even when I’d been in a car accident, she’d done nothing more than stay awake all night.

Someone as emotionally detached as her was now sobbing uncontrollably.

Her fingernails dug deep into my arm as she yelled, “Say something! Talk to me!”

For the first time, she looked like a woman terrified of losing the person she loved.

The roles had completely reversed. The irony almost made me laugh.

My hand brushed against a glass on the nearby table. Without hesitation, I grabbed it and smashed it against Yvonne’s head.

I then turned around and walked away.

“Yvonne!”

Henry threw himself onto her while frantically trying to stop the bleeding on her forehead.

He seemed furious.

“I’m calling the police! I’m getting that jerk arrested!” He exclaimed.

After saying that, he grabbed his phone and began dialing a number.

The next second, another hand snatched it away and hurled it against the wall.

Yvonne seized Henry by the collar.

The hostility in her eyes was impossible to hide. “If it weren’t for you, Jason never would’ve gone looking for another woman! You’re the real homewrecker!”

“Yvonne, how could you-

“Ahh!”

“Get away from me!” Yvonne pushed him aside. Clutching her bleeding forehead, she ran out the door.

Yvonne drove straight home, but Jason wasn’t there.

Her expression darkened as she called him, but he didn’t answer.

Her thoughts began to spiral out of control. Was he with that woman again?

Suddenly, her limbs felt cold. Clenching her jaw hard, she wanted nothing more than to find that homewrecker and tear her apart.

After switching on her phone, Yvonne began sending messages to Jason.

[Jason, let’s talk this through. We shouldn’t do things like this just to hurt each other. I know you’re not that kind of person.]

[I was wrong before. I can change. Just give me a chance. Let’s talk.]

[I already regret everything. You have no idea how miserable I am right now. Don’t you care at all?]

[Come home. You can yell at me and hit me. Whatever you want.]

Without realizing it, Yvonne had sent Jason hundreds of messages. She was like a heartbroken woman who couldn’t stop talking.

Thirty minutes passed. Then an hour. Then three. She never received a reply.

Yvonne finally snapped.

She’d done everything she could to control her temper and reason with him, but he was still giving her the silent

treatment.

Her imagination ran wild. She began imagining Jason being with someone else.

What were they doing now?

Were they on a date? Were they having a candlelit dinner? Or was it more?

Crash!

Yvonne hurled something at the television, shattering the screen.

Her eyes were bloodshot. It felt as if a fire had been lit inside her, and it consumed everything in its path.
