After the Raft Capsized, the Ice Cold Campus Heartthrob Came Knocking Chapter 06
Huh? He’s… showering?
Oh my god. Shouldn’t he warn me so I can get out?
I mean, I could wrap myself in a blanket and step out even if it’s cold.
My rational brain was screaming at me to leave, but my eyes and limbs refused to obey.
Through the steam, a tall, lean silhouette appeared-smooth shoulder lines, toned waist and abdomen…
It was a feast for the eyes.
My face grew hotter and hotter.
I mean, come on. That kind of half-hidden, misty beauty-who could resist looking?
I wasn’t a saint. I definitely couldn’t.
While I was lost in my thoughts, the water stopped.
The bathroom door opened, and Cole stepped out wearing nothing but a towel.
His wet hair was still dripping. Droplets slid down his sharp jaw, past his Adam’s apple, over his chest, lingered on his abs, and disappeared into the loose towel at his waist.
My eyes went wide. My phone slipped from my hand and clattered to the floor.
[Mia’s completely stunned. Looks like not bringing clothes in was the right call.]
Hearing that, I snapped back to reality.
Oh, you little-Cole Bradshaw! You little schemer!
You think that’s going to work on me?
Fine. I admit it. It worked.
I stared at his firm abs and swallowed without thinking.
He noticed my gaze and the corner of his mouth lifted. He walked over with his long legs.
Without warning, he leaned in close. His crisp, clean scent washed over me, surrounding me completely.
Looking at his face suddenly so near, my already burning cheeks flared even hotter, and my
heartbeat went wild like a machine gun.
Then a voice cut through the thick atmosphere.
[Damn. I want to kiss her so bad right now. But it’s not the right moment. It would scare Mia.]
I blinked.
Uh. Shouldn’t it be me who’s scared? Look at your own ears.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught his crimson ears, and a mischievous urge welled up inside me.
He was being this blatantly tempting. If I didn’t do something, wasn’t that a waste?
Seeing him frozen there, I suddenly propped myself up, leaned toward him, and stopped about an
inch from his lips.
He went rigid. His throat bobbed. “Mia…”
I moved half an inch closer and smiled at him. “Yeah? What do you want,
Cole?”
His usual cool composure shattered. His whole face turned crimson. He looked away in a panic.
“I-I’m just-I’m getting your phone.”
He shoved the phone into my hands, turned around, and fled into the bathroom like a fugitive.
A second later, the water started again.
I burst out laughing.
Oh god. Cole was just too cute.
How could there be such an adorable boy in this world?
He made me want to kiss him too.
I slept like a baby that night.
But Cole seemed to have barely slept-he had dark circles under his eyes.
We went down to the restaurant for breakfast and ran into Derek and his crew again.
The looks they gave me were filled with contempt-like I was something dirty. Derek especially.
Talk about bad luck.
Cole’s face darkened. He shifted slightly, using his broad shoulders to block their stares from me,
just like he’d blocked the mountain wind that night.
Looking at his handsome profile, my bad mood instantly lifted.
He said softly, “It’s okay. I’m here. They wouldn’t dare do anything.”
I smiled and shook my head. “I’m fine. Don’t let these few bad apples ruin the day.”
We walked past them without a second glance.
Then Derek’s mocking voice came from behind.
“Mia. You’re shameless. You’re just making mistake after mistake. Have you thought about how you’re going to face your parents after this?”
