Last Life, I Divorced Him and He Became a Billionaire. This Life, I’m Keeping the Billionaire Chapter 18
After we got our marriage certificate, Caspian stepped down from his position as CEO and turned down
most of his work.
He either traveled with Ada and me or accompanied me to inspect investment projects.
As Ada grew older, I took her to meet Hudson.
Yet she felt no closeness to her biological father at all, immediately turning to Caspian instead, asking him to buy her building blocks.
Hudson had a new girlfriend who seemed rather sharp-tempered.
Every time he met Ada, his phone kept ringing nonstop.
He grew impatient, hanging up and blocking the calls.
When he saw me, he looked visibly awkward.
I said nothing, and suddenly thought of the message Alina had sent me the week before. She’d recovered
completely from her illness.
Her ex-husband had stayed by her side throughout chemotherapy, and the two had recently remarried.
She’d invited me to their wedding abroad.
After thinking it over, I agreed.
Before leaving the country, I went shopping to pick out gifts for Alina.
I was about to take my leave of Hudson when he hesitated and blocked my path. “Willow.”
“Yes?”
“I don’t mind that you’ve been with Caspian. Ada is growing up day by day. Could you think about leaving him and remarrying me? We used to have such a good relationship, and Ada needs her real father…”
I glanced at him coldly, “Mr. Steel, I’d advise you not to say another word.”
From the moment he’d chosen Alina over his newborn daughter, he’d never been worthy of being her father.
I ignored Hudson and walked straight to Caspian, who’d come to pick me up.
He wrapped an arm around me instinctively, then glanced at the dejected man standing not far behind. “What? Trying to steal you away from me again?”
“Don’t mind him. He’s out of his mind half the time anyway.”
“Hahaha. Bet he’s jealous I’ve got a loving wife and a happy family.”
I pinched him lightly “Will you stop posting all those lovey-dovey moments on your Instagram? What’s the point of riling him up like that?”
Caspian kissed me soundly. “He didn’t cherish you back then. Now you’re mine.”
“Alright, alright, Mr. Vanderbilt. Our little girl’s waiting impatiently up ahead. Let’s go find her.”
Hand in hand, we walked slowly toward Ada.
Beneath the warm lights, our shadows blended into one.
I leaned into Caspian.
I was grateful that in this life, I would never be alone again.
